Rihanna has signed on to make her feature film debut in the action flick Battleship, which is inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, her rep recently confirmed.

The cast and crew behind her include Friday Night Lights hunk Taylor Kitsch and True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard as brothers who end up leading the fight for their planet’s survival against an otherworldly force.

Peter Berg (Hancock) is attached to direct and the film is slated for release on 25 May 2012.

I hope Rihanna will get a sizeable role and not one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” moments.

In another Rihanna news: Rihanna revealed she has become party planner for Katy Perry's bachelorette party. Katy is set to marry British comedian Russell Brand but no news on when.

"It's taking up way more time than my tour," Rihanna, who's currently on her Live Nation tour, said. "It's so much pressure. Her wedding is probably going to be the best wedding I've ever been to and now I have to match the bachelorette party to that."
