Do you know that celebrities are bad for your computer. Really! Searching for celebrities online can be dangerous, says Internet security company McAfee.
"Cybercriminals are star watchers too - they latch onto popular celebrities to encourage the download of malicious software in disguise," says a spokesperson for McAfee. "Every day, cybercriminals use celebrities' names and images, like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, to lure surfers searching for the latest stories, screen savers and ringtones to sites offering free downloads laden with malware."
This year's most dangerous search is Jessica Biel! Thank goodness we are so not into her.
It seems if you look up for Jessica Biel online, there's a probability of one-in-five at arriving at a site known for online threats such as spyware, spam, phishing and viruses, according to McAfee.
Other celebrities who are bad for your computer include Beyonce and Jennifer Aniston. You have been warned. |
