Looking at Rihanna, you'd think she is one of the best-selling singers in the music industry, right? Well, not really.
It seems the sales of Rihanna's albums have been lacklustre according to a survey done by Billboard magazine. She might have seven No. 1 singles but none of her albums have ever gone to the top of the chart.
Here are some interesting statistics on the sales of Rihanna's albums:
Music Of The Sun (peaked at No. 10) sold 593,000 copies in the U.S
A Girl Like Me (No.5) sold 1,330,000 copies
Good Girl Gone Bad (No. 2) sold 2,616,000 copies
Good Girl Gone Bad: The Remixes (No. 106) sold 49,000 copies
Rated R (No. 4) sold 943,000 copies
Rated R: Remixed (No. 158) sold 13,000
That's quite a pathetic figure. To put it in perspective: all albums combined, Rihanna has sold 5.5 million copies of album in the U.S while Carrie Underwood's debut album alone sold 7 million copies!
So, don't ever buy to the hype when someone tells you something is hot. It might not appear as it is, just like in the case of Rihanna.
