| Miss Mexico Is Miss Universe |
| Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez crowns Jimena Navarrete as the 2010 Miss Universe at a ceremony in Las Vegas Mexico's Jimena Navarrete was crowned Miss Universe Monday night in an upset victory that stunned a pageant world which had predicted a winner to emerge from Ireland, Venezuela or the United States.
The 22-year-old from Guadalajara, resplendent in a flowing ruby-red evening gown, has been modeling since she was 15, but nothing could quite prepare her for her moment of glory.
"I did feel surprised, I just went blank," the brunette beauty said of her crowning achievement. "There was nothing going through my mind. I was in a state of shock."
Beyond the diamond-encrusted tiara affixed to her head when the announcers declared she had triumphed over runner-up Miss Jamaica, Yendi Phillipps, Jimena receives a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy, and a year's supply of shoes, dresses and hair products.
Her coronation -- which earned her a congratulatory message on Twitter from Mexican President Felipe Calderon -- ends the reign of outgoing Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela. AFP Relaxnews |

| Lady Gaga Is Twitter Queen |
|
All hail the Queen of Twitter Lady Gaga has dethroned Britney Spears as "Twitter Queen" with more than 5.7 million followers on the microblogging site and promised on Monday no online celebrity nonsense during her reign.
An "inaugural message" posted by the pop music diva at her official YouTube channel had been viewed 345,145 times by Monday afternoon.
"Thank you for beginning my reign as Twitter Queen," Lady Gaga said in video that showed her sitting at a make-up table backstage with a lacy crown atop her head and a glowing wand in one hand.
"I vow never to partake in online shenanigans and I vow to always tweet and tweet again."
Lady Gaga, whose birth name is Stefani Germanotta, posted the video after getting word that she had replaced Britney as the person with the greatest following at microblogging service Twitter.
The music star known for creative outfits had 5,750,270 followers at Twitter as of early Monday in California, while there were 5,712,098 people signed on to receive musings or other terse missives fired off at the service by Britney.
Others in the club of Twitter users with more than five million followers included US president Barack Obama and celebrities Ashton Kutcher and Ellen DeGeneres.
As with fame, popularity at Twitter is subject to the whims of fans.
"May you always have cropped cuticles while tweeting and may you never have carpal tunnel," Lady Gaga said, referring to a repetitive stress injury sometimes caused by too much typing. AFP Relaxnews |

| Taylor Lautner: Diva In The Making? |
|
Of all the celebrities in Hollywood the last person you’d expect to have diva tendencies would be wholesome cutie-pie Taylor Lautner. However, the Twilight star has revealed a bit of his inner diva when he sued an RV dealership for not delivering his customized trailer in a timely fashion. Gotta act the part? According to RadarOnline.com, Taylor’s dad (OMG, he’s not even making his own purchases!) had put in an order for a $300,000, 2006 Affinity Country Coach RV with orders for certain improvements to be made on the trailer.
In the lawsuit filed, it stated that because the company, ‘failed to deliver the trailer in a safe and operative condition …. Taylor was deprived of its use.’ As such, Taylor’s lawyers are suing for breach of contract, fraud and, here’s the classic one, ‘emotional distress.’

| Cameron Diaz Is Dangerous Online |
| She might have the face of an angel, and heck, she’s even played one but online Cameron Diaz can wreck havoc. The actress is not to blame but her popularity has gotten many celebwatchers into serious PC trouble. | Britney Spears To Do It One More Time – Get Married That Is |
| Obviously Britney Spears believes in the adage, “If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.” Even though her marriages have either been very brief or ended badly, it has been reported that Britney is gearing up for yet another trip down the aisle. The groom of choice is current boyfriend Jason Trawick (who used to be her manager). Take me to the church on time Reports were also quick to point out that, “he is nothing like her exes,” so maybe third times a charm? Britney’s mother is having her fingers crossed as she’s got her hopes pinned on Jason, ‘being the one.’ A source told Us Weekly that mamma Spears Lynne revealed, “He’s the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he’s stable.”
Besides getting hitched, Britney is also reportedly eager to start a family with Jason. It is believed that Britney wants to get started on that right away as she doesn’t want to have that big an age gap between her eldest son Sean (who is four) and the would-be babe.

| Wyclef Disqualified! |
It ain't over till it's over
Wyclef Jean may have thought he was a shoo-in for President of Haiti. Unfortunately, the powers-that-be had other ideas.
On Friday, Haiti’s Electoral Board disqualified Wyclef’s candidacy while declining to provide an official reason.
Wyclef, though disappointed, claims he accepts the decision but states that he will not let this keep him down. Said Wyclef in a statement, “I want to assure my countrymen that I will continue to work for Haiti’s renewal. Do not think that my role in the future of Haiti is over; it’s just a different role than I had anticipated it to be.”
The New York Times reports that the police force and United Nations peacekeepers are on high alert and prepared to deal with any unrest that may result from Wyclef’s disqualification.
Wyclef may not have been the choice among of people in the know, but he has a huge base of support in his native Haiti.

| Roseanne Barr Set On Beating Obama At The Polls |
|
President Roseanne, First Woman of the Guillotine
And speaking of presidents and elections, here’s something else that may interest you.
You know comedienne Roseanne Barr? No? Well, if you are old enough to remember 57-year-old Roseanne, you’ll be old enough to remember that while she is(was?) darn funny, she has never appeared to be altogether there.
And the latest example of this is Roseanne’s announcement that she will be running for both the posts of President of the United States and Prime Minister of Israel!
True, some of the stuff said at her “campaign speech” made sense (eg. “All prime ministers, queens, and presidents will be required to fight in the very first infantry wave of any war they authorise. Trust me, this will make for some productive peace talks, people.”) but seriously, does anyone really think she can make it to the White House? Does Roseanne herself?
We wonder what John Goodman makes of all this
I mean, c’mon, one of the things she wants to do is, and I quote: “reinstate and enshrine the blessed and holy guillotine -- a fast and painless execution of justice, and of execution!”
In case you’re interested though, highlights of Roseanne’s campaign speech can be viewed here.

| Beyonce A Messy Person? |
 Messy Miss
It’s nice to know that even celebs are a work in progress sometimes, that they’re still working out the kinks. One such star is Beyoncé, who recently admitted that she is very messy and needs to work on being a tidier person.
She said that she has trouble keeping her clothes in the wardrobe and that they regularly end up on the floor. She told Self: “I promise I’m working on this, but I could be less messy at home and keep the clothes in my closet and off the floor!”
If you ask me, messy is better than messed up!
Beyoncé added that she finds it difficult to switch off from work when she's having a break. She explained: "I love going to dinners, seeing plays, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends. I know it's time to jump back into my work when everything I do starts inspiring lyrics and melodies and I can't keep myself out of the studio."
That’s okay, Bey. Even Lady Gaga is that way. She recently admitted that she was unaware she had won two Teen Choice Awards because she was busy in the studio!
If this is how hard celebs (who already have money, fame and recognition) work, should we, ordinary folk, rest away? Work, people, work! Don’t stop till you achiever your dreams. Not even after. |
