Just when you think Hollywood celebrities have learned about DUI well...  Mischa Barton has been arrested in West Hollywood for not only driving under the influence of alcohol, but the former O.C. star was also in possession of marijuana and unidentified controlled substance.

To make things worse, the 21-year-old party girl was driving with an invalid license!

She was later released on US$10,000 bail. A court hearing has been fixed on February 28.

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z will be stepping down as president of Def Jam Records (for which he inked a US10 million deal), effective 1 Jan, it was announced yesterday. The 38-year-old savvy entrepreneur as well as creative head said in a statement that it was time for him to “take on new challenges.”

For those who came in late, Jay-Z was the one who signed on Rihanna and Ne-Yo and is responsible for the monster releases by himself and Kanye West.

“As a person who is optimistic about hip-hop, I look at albums like American Gangster and Kanye West’s Graduation as albums that people can emulate, because they were made with nothing but the highest of integrity and passion about putting your all into the music,” Jay-Z told billboard.com last week.

“People tend to emulate success, so hopefully they’ll emulate the blueprint of those albums, and we’ll have some great music.” 

Looks like Jay-Z will have a lot of time to spend with Beyonce this New Year.

Luxury jeweller Van Cleef and Arpels has sued Heidi Klum, claiming the model-cum-TV show host has copied a vintage clover jewellery design. The suit seeks more than US$25,000 in damages from Heidi’s company Heidi Klum GmbH and Mouawad USA, another company she has designed jewellery for.
