| U.K. Delays Ben Affleck’s Directing Debut |
Thanks for the unintended buzz on my film, U.K.
Best friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have a lot of similarities. But while Matt’s film career is going great (with the release of The Bourne Ultimatum and the release of a film he produced, Running The Sahara), Ben’s seems to be facing hurdles. As if it’s not enough that his acting career has seen better day, his directing debut has hit a snag.
The U.K. premiere of Gone Baby Gone, Ben’s feature directing debut, has been delayed due to similarities between the story and the real-life disappearance of Madeline McCann, who vanished on a family vacation to Portugal in May. Gone Baby Gone centres on the search for a kidnapped four-year-old girl in Boston. Not only does Madeline O’Brien, the actress who portrays the girl, share a first name with Madeline McCann, she’s also said to bear a strong resemblance to the missing child. The film, which stars Ben’s younger brother, Casey, was scheduled to debut at the London Film Fest next month and to open wide in November but the release has now been postponed indefinitely.
 Gone Baby Gone
Earlier this week at the Deauville Film Festival, Ben said that the film would not be released if the situation were judged to be inappropriate. “All the people involved in the film have much greater concern for Madeleine McCann than we do for the release of our project,” he said. “The movie will not be released if it is going to touch a nerve or inflame anybody’s sensitivities. The movie is just a commercial matter, whereas this is a matter of life and death,’ he concluded.
Ben’s stance is going to earn him brownie points and nothing is going to stop people from catching the flick, which is slated to open in America on 19 October. |

| Lindsay To Quit … Hollywood! |
It looks like Lindsay Lohan has had an epiphany – Hollywood is to blame for her troubles with drugs and alcohol! And as such the perpetually recovering star has hit on a brilliant solution to overcome all the problems that have plagued her since her rise to superstardom; the actress is threatening to quit the scene. You don't have to quit Hollywood. Just say "No" to drugs Lindsay apparently revealed this to her estranged dad, whom she reunited with recently. According to Michael Lohan, whom himself has a DUI rap sheet, it was during the teary-eyed reunion that Lindsay confided in him about how much she hates Hollywood and doesn’t want to work there.
Michael added, “She does not want to live in Hollywood as that is where the evil in her life happens.”
Lindsay promised Michael that she will clean up her act. According to Michael, Lindsay was remorseful and admitted she had done some terrible things and had been addicted to drugs but promised that she will never do drugs again. |

| Indy 4 Has A Name |
Harrison Ford: Yes, can’t you see I’m excited about doing Indy 4?
Finally, after months of speculation, the new Indiana Jones film has a name! And it is: Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Yes, the title beat out “Indiana Jones And The City Of Gods” and “Indiana Jones And The Destroyer Of Worlds”, two of the potential names registered by producers Lucasfilms Ltd.

Shia LeBeouf, who has been cast to play Jones’ son in the film, blurted out the title at the VMA on Sunday but the news was drowned out by the bigger news of Britney’s folly on stage and Pamela Andersen’s exes scuffling with each other. However, Lucasfilms confirmed the title yesterday.
The film, which will be directed by Steven Spielberg, will be released May next year. |

| Zac Efron Is Irresistable! |
There is more to me than just a pretty face...
More movie deals are rolling in for super cutie Zac Efron... The American teen heartthrob has just signed on to star in Seventeen - a comedy that tells the tale of a 36-year-old man who wakes up one morning to discover that he's a high school senior again. Apparently, there's more to it than just school dances, peer pressure and high school drama. "It's a good transitional movie that will appeal to his audience and hopefully bring in more adults," Zac's sister, Jennifer Gibgot has been quoted saying. Jennifer also happens to be the producer of Seventeen. Details of the cast and date of release has yet to be made available to the press. |

| Aishwarya Rai In Pink Panther 2 |
I'm your mrs spy. I'm gonna hypnotise you with my big, green eyes...
Unlike most Bollywood actresses who end their career after marriage, Aishwarya Rai seems to be charging forward. The gorgeous Mrs Abhishek Bachchan is currently busy playing detective alongside Steve Martin and Andy Garcia in Pink Panther 2. The latest that we've heard is that Ash and her Hollywood crew are now in Paris, shooting some scenes for the movie. Joining them on the location is Abhishek, who showers his wife with TLCs in between breaks. Awww... how romantic. Pink Panther 2 is scheduled for a worldwide release in February next year. |

| Who Cares About Bond? |
Let Daniel Craig have his Aston Martin, I don't care! That's the gist of what Clive Owen thinks about not being given the opportunity to play James Bond.
 No regrets! That's my motto.
The British actor, who will soon be seen with blazing guns in Shoot 'Em Up, told Dark Horizons that it was easy to not feel disappointed about not playing Agent 007 as the rumour linking him to the role was all just hype.
He said, "It was all hyped-up rumour and it was all a sort of media thing, going 'round and 'round in circles."
Clive also reveled that he's been very happy with the roles he has accepted to date. He said, "I've been totally content and happy with the choices I've made and the
movies I've made. Choices that are not all to do with mainstream
Hollywood."

| Accented Angie |
I’ve always thought Angelina Jolie was good looking. Well, no. That’s not right. When I say “always”, I actually mean ever since Hackers. And “good looking” actually means DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL!!!! Anyway, you get my point, right? She’s hot!
Sure, I can do classy but I much prefer tacky.
Unfortunately, hot doesn’t an actress make. Call me a snob or blind or stupid or whatever, but I’ve never been convinced about her great actress status.
She was brilliant in Playing By Heart and Gia, yes. And yeah, she got an Oscar for Girl, Interrupted. But great actresses, I believe, need to deliver the goods on a regular basis. And unfortunately, getting into, ahem, character for the Lara Croft movies doesn’t count. Neither does adopting atrocious accents.
But of course, Angie doesn’t care what I or anyone else thinks of her as an actress. And that’s why she promises to be once more at her tacky best, with kit off and atrocious accent in place, in the upcoming Beowulf. Check out the trailer at www.beowulfmovie.com to see what I mean.

| Cameron Diaz To Star In Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper |
Cam's gonna be a legal eagle Those who have read Jodi Picoult's books know that her stories are compelling (though a tad depressing) and gripping. One of my favourite books from the author is My Sister's Keeper which tells the story of a 13-year-old girl who sues her parents and wants to be legally emancipated from them. The girl was conceived as a genetic match in the hope she could prolong her cancer-ridden sister's life and she is sick and tired of having to do that.
Now, this best-selling book is to be turned into a movie. Cameron Diaz is slated to play the attorney who represents the girl. The movie will be directed by Nick Cassavetes who helmed the critically acclaimed flick, The Notebook.
