Korean idols ZE:A, who is currently on a promotional tour in Asia, is scheduled to visit Malaysia this month, according to their agency Star Empire Entertainment on Friday.
"The boys will hold fan meetings as holding small live concerts sometime in mid-September in Malaysia and Singapore," a PR official from Star Empire told 10Asia over the phone, adding that other activities will be announced on a later date.
The official also explained that the company is in the planning stages for the group's second Asia tour for next year and is aiming to visit seven countries including Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
ZE:A, which means "Children of Empire" in Korean, released their debut mini-album Nativity, featuring the title track Mazeltov, in early January. They revealed their repackaged album Leap For Detonation in April and recently promoted their single Level Up.
The boys were in Thailand in late-July and will be visiting the Philippines in October and Japan soon after. 10Asia
When the going gets tough, Christine gets going…Meet tough chick Christine White, who hails from the Philippines. She’s one of the contestants of The Biggest Loser Asia programme, brought to us by Hallmark Channel.
See you at the finale!
She lost only 1kg at the weigh-in during the latest episode of the show and not surprisingly, she was voted out by the rest of the contestants. But it’s not all bad. Some voted her out because they felt she has been showing good progress on her own and didn’t need the show as much as others, say Kevin, the heaviest participant on the show, who started at 215kg. Yes, it’s true that Christine is one of the more highly motivated contestants.
Christine revealed to Galaxie that even before the show, she lost 30 pounds, picking up tips from the US version of the show. Impressive. Christine’s (5’5”) starting weight was 128kg. Since then, she has lost 26kg and she's still losing.
Galaxie: How has being on The Biggest Loser Asia programme changed you?
Christine: Oh, it’s a life-changing experience. I went there to change my attitude. And it 's different. You're more aware.
G: What was the hardest thing for you being on the show?
C: Being away from my family. And sometimes the exercises are so long and so difficult and very tiring. Initially we trained about 4-5 hours a day but later on, it became like 10-11 hours.
G: Did you ever feel like punching your trainer?
C: No but there was a time Kristy (Curtis the trainer) put her foot near our faces and said “Kiss my feet”. That was totally unnecessary.
G: Sorry to remind you about FOOD, glorious food but what item did you miss the most. Did you have any cravings?
C: I love sweet food – chocolates, doughnuts. But while on the show I ate healthy. I ate a lot of fish: tuna, dory and salmon and stayed away from fatty meat. I missed my Filipino food Adobo but Carlo (fellow contestant from the Philippines) prepared a healthier version of it, he substituted pork fat with lean chicken, carrot and pumpkin so I didn’t have much cravings.
G: Hafiz from Singapore confessed his love for you. How did his leaving the show affect you? Is there a possible romance?
C: When he left I was very, very sad ‘cos he’s a truly genuine guy. We used to take walks together and he’s so comfortable to talk to. (Laughing)Who knows where this will lead to.
G: What weight do you want to be? And how do you plan to attain it now?
C: 140 pounds (63kg). I’m still eating healthily and working out. My body’s already used to the routines so I’m pushing myself.
G: What advice do you have for those who failed to get on the show but want to lose weight?
C: Just do it the old fashioned way, eat moderate and exercise. You can’t go wrong with it.

OK, so he didn’t mean it when he said he quit showbiz. Now, more than a year after the sex photo scandal he was embroiled in, 28-year-old Edison Chen is set to star opposite Kelly Hu in an English-language film titled Almost Perfect.
New York-based production company Slew Pictures is behind the film and they listed Edison as being involved in the project. The movie, whose tagline is ‘Finding puppy love at 34’, is about an Asian woman who juggles the competing needs of her new boyfriend and her immediate family.
So far, the movie does not seem to have a release date but it is listed on IMDb as a movie set for release next year.
With so much pressure from the media, Hong Kong superstar, Andy Lau has admitted that he has married long time girlfriend, Carol Chu last year.
He explains on his blog, "I am sorry that I have not been able to keep my promise and tell everyone about it [the relationship], I have caused my family, friends, and friends in the media much embarrassment, I am sorry... I will explain everything in due time."
The couple was married in Clark County, Nevada on June 23 last year.
The 47-year-old singer also explained the reason he and Carol got married in America was because they want to have a child by artificial insemination, which is only possible if the couple is married.
"I was afraid that if I announced the marriage, she would be stalked by reporters, so I made a selfish decision. I thought if things go well, I would tell everyone when the baby is stable, but instead I made things more complicated," he said.
No further details were given about their efforts to have a child.
Oh we are so, so sad. We have just learnt that Yasmin Ahmad has passed away. The 51-year-old director, who was known for her award-winning movies such as Sepet and Muallaf, died at about 11.25 pm Saturday night, reported Bernama.
On Thursday, Yasmin collapsed while making a presentation at Sri Pentas and was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery to reduce a swelling in her brain. She was said to have suffered from a stroke and brain haemorrhage.
Rest in peace, Yasmin. And thank you for all the wonderful commercials and movies you have given us.
After battling it out for 10 weeks in Akademi Fantasia (AF7), Hafiz, the one with the golden voice has been voted as the winner of Malaysia's top reality show.
Malaysia welcomes another cute reality star who can sing
The curly-haired, 19-year-old Sarawakian (who bears a striking resemblance to Indonesia's pop-rock hero, Nidji's lead vocalist Giring), is not only the audience' s favourite. He's also the critics' darling.
"Hafiz has the biggest potential among his peers," praises acclaimed music director/music critic, Ramli MS. "Give him any song and he'll be able to sing it well. My personal vote goes to him."
As the new AF winner, Hafiz walks away with handsome rewards, which include RM20,000 cash, a trip to New York for two and a Honda Accord 2.0.
"Thank you to those who have been voting for me since day one," says a tearful Hafiz right after the three-hour AF finals in Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil is over. "My victory is for you."
As I have expected, Tomok (whose real name is Shah Indrawan Ismail) is the winner of One In AMillion season 3, unveiled at the Stadium Melawati in Shah Alam tonight.
Oozing star power, the ruggedly good-looking singer, formerly of boyband New Boyz, was consistently good from start to finish. He was energetic and charismatic on stage, delighting audience and critics with his ability to carry off a variety of songs -- be they pop or rock. Oh, he could wiggle his hips while singing Beyonce's Crazy In Love.
"I give 100 percent in my performance," said the 25-year-old, who walked away with RM1 million cash prize (to be paid in installments) and a recording contract with Monkey Bone, a label under the 8TV banner.
So roll aside Mawi. Malaysia has a new reality TV star now.
[left] Fasha Sandha and Nora Danish make a good soap opera
Why oh why do Malay female celebrities like to go for rich married men?
Let’s take Fasha Sandha as an example. The gossip about her and socialite Rizal Ashram Tan Sri Ramli, who’s recently divorced from actress Nora Danish, is just getting hotter. (FYI, Fasha and Rizal have neither confirmed nor denied their alleged romance) It certainly doesn’t help that she and Nora are having war of words now.
Nora has openly accused Fasha of ruining her two-year marriage to Rizal.
“Fasha will never get to marry Rizal,” Nora unleashes her anger. “My former in-laws will never accept a husband snatcher into their family.”
But Fasha retorts back by saying, “When have I ever said that I want to marry Nora’s (ex) husband? If Rizal and his family got anything to say about me, the words should come from them, not Nora.”
While many celebrities like to keep their visit to plastic surgeons hush hush, Chow Yun-Fat is the total opposite. This man is proud of the nip and tuck he has done. And mind you, he started long time ago!
The Hong Kong actor admits to getting work done on his eyes when he was only 34 years old. "As I grew older, my eyelids began to droop. I began going for cosmetic surgery in Hong Kong when I was filming The God Of Gamblers in 1989," he said in an interview while promoting his new movie Dragonball in South Korea.
And he is willing to share his contact too! "If you go to Hong Kong for plastic surgery, I can introduce you to the doctor. He's cheap and good."
We bet Nicole Kidman has Fat Kor on her speed dial!
